Blogs or Forums?

I was surveying for these 2 and found that they are the same as far as SEO tactics go to gain PR. So which is better? Forums or blogs?

Blogs are better than forum in point of SEO. Forum are mainly for discussions but i like forums too because ithelps to share the views regarding the topics & helps to keep updated..
