Does anyone here use a Blog Script on their own site?

With all of the Blog options out there where you can actually publish your entries directly on your server, is it even advantageous to use a Blog Script on your own site or is it fine just to use Blogger or one of the others?

Need some idea's ?

I use Wordpress on my blog and there are too many great plugin I got from Wordpress itself and I use them.
