Windows 7 freezing problems

Question

Windows 7 is pretty good except the.. complete random freezing which requires a hard restart (laptop becomes absolutely unresponsive to keyword and mouse) and happens quite frequently, sometimes right after restart, sometimes a few hours in.

    Anyone managed to solve the problem? I googled around and tried a few suggestions but nothing helped so far.

Before selecting OS, keep pressing F8, select "Last configuration that works". Now I hope you will get batter restore. If still it does not work, do so again.
