What type of linking best for SE?

was just curious as to which types of linking as best for Search Engines? From my understand 1 one way link is the best. I heard 3 way is good because search engine can not determine reciprocal benefit....Any comments??

The best relevant links are the best, whether they are achieved through link exchanging or any other link building technique.

But yes! mostly one way links are considered more beneficial @ SE rankings.
