Anybody define line organization in management?

The line organization is the simplest and the oldest type of organization.It is characterized by direct vertical flow of authority from the top man through the various managers down to the workers.
A simplified line organization:
at first Manager-----Plant Manager----------manager product A,manager product B, manager product C and last job worker
