When did you submit the link?
If you just submitted it then it is probably pending for approval in many directories, also another reason could be that the page where your link exists may not be indexed by Google, so just wait for some time to see the results.
Best way to keep track of Google is to sign up with Google Webmasters, that way you get a picture of your website from Google's perspective.
